- FREE bike helmets for kids and adults! Come and get fitted for a free bike helmet from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM on the Great Lawn, sponsored by Council Member Andrew Cohen and in cooperation with Vision Zero and the New York City Department of Transportation. - Mobile adoption center by the Animal Care Centers of NYC, bringing adoptable dogs and cats in search of loving homes to RiverFest from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM. All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. There is an application process and an adoption fee for each animal; once that’s taken care of, they can go home with their new families the same day. Click here to see the flyer.
